Happy Birthday Gavin
Today we celebrated Gavin's 2nd Birthday ( a day early yes).
We decided that it would be best to just have a family party, just the four of us, and we headed to Boondocks!
It's a good hour and 15 minutes away but it was so worth it. Gavin received a free unlimited pass for his birthday, but due to his size he could only golf and play in the kiddie jungle gym...which was totally fine with him!
We spent a good 3 hours there and we were able to get some great prizes with our tickets, one of which Gavin is surprisingly terrified of (see video).
Half way home we stopped at Red Robin (Yummm) for his B-day dinner, and they gave him a bowl full of whipped cream and sprinkles (per my request since he dislikes ice cream....weird I know), and we left with a balloon for each kiddo.
Man, even with stopping and eating at the half way point, it was still a long drive home with those two....
We did finally make it home to open presents (yes he is spoiled) and have cupcakes.
Now, Gavo loves the Goldfish Crackers, so that was kind of the theme for today. I attempted to make a pull-apart cupcake-cake but it didn't turn out so well. So in case you are wondering what the candle is sitting on it is suppose to be a Goldfish. :)
Gavo tasted the icing and was ready to get back to his toys.
Its been an hour and a half and he is still loving his Cars race track.

Gymnastics meet
Ok so "it has been a while" is the understatement of the year.
There are two events that I will update you all on.

Easter!
Hey everyone,
Despite dad being gone, we had a pretty good Easter.
This was the first Easter I have had to play Easter Bunny all by myself. I must say some of the fun was missing. Hopefully we won't have to miss Jason over too many holidays.
We we ended up having a lot of eggs, and I only opened up one bag of left over eggs. a total of 45 eggs per kiddo. ya.
I made out like a bandit with the candy, I only paid $11 for $37 worth. (thank you coupons)
Bryton woke up a quarter to 6....ugh.
We woke up Gavo and he was like...ugh too.
But we headed down stairs and found their baskets and gifts at the bottom.
I gave Bryton and Gavin a gift each. Gavin got a froggy pillow pet and Bryton got Crayola Color Wonder Metalics. ~very cool if I do say so myself~
It was a challenge at first to get Gavin to even notice the eggs, he was too busy with his car that he got.
When he did finally start looking for eggs he was in heaven! Eggs here and there, eggs everywhere.
He found about 10 when he finally busted one open and was done. There was candy inside. And no need to look for anymore.
He did pick up a few more here and there but Bryton had to pick up his slack.
Bryton, now last year she found every egg in the house in less than 3 minutes. So this year had to be a little more challenging.
I hid them everywhere, and while she was still really good, we were missing three by the time we gave up. They were finally found, (medicine cabinet, snack cupboard).
We really had a good morning.
We wish dad could have been here. We will see him soon though, and make up for lost time!
We love you Jason!!!!!

Lazy Butt
Well I am taking a break from my homework right now and thought I would get caught up on a little bit 'o blogging.
(No pics though....I'm lazy, and like I said, I'm only taking a break from my homework)
Okay, so let's start with me.....because I am awesome.
Right now I am still sitting in my church clothes and its nearly 10 o'clock. I have been dealing with kids, cleaning (sort of) and as stated above, doing homework.
I have been a full-time student for about a year and a half now. I was taking a lot of prerequisites from American Public University (APU) online so I could stay home.
I finished many of my prerequisite classes and I have about a 3.4 GPA.
I started taking on-campus classes at Laramie County Community College AKA L' Trip.
I am hoping to get into the Radiography Program they have here. It's a 24 month AAS and I turned in my application the 2nd week of January.
Scary story:
Before I took any prerequisites from the online college APU, I called the registrar at LCCC to make sure that the credits would transfer over from APU to LCCC and that they would satisfy the requirements for the Rad program.
Well, she told me they did. So I took them
Last week I get a call from the Rad Program director and she said based on my credits from my previous college I didn't qualify! -WHAT-!!!!!
Well it all got figured out and I do qualify...jerks.
Anyways I will find out April 1st if I was accepted.
So, enough about me....even though I know you want to hear more.
Jason just left this past week for Afghanistan again. He will be gone for 2.5 month which will end up being 5 months in a year.
We have been able to Skype and talk online while he makes his way there.
He is doing good so far, but he will be there over his birthday and Easter. So any moral packages would be most appreciated. :)
He recently bought us a four-wheeler and we are planning on have many a good time this summer.
He did get a little spoiled for his bday. He got a Kill-Audio collectible, a Coheed and Cambria Mug (that I painted) an awesome BBQing book, a loop station (for recording music and whatnot) and thanks to my skillful sister who shall not be named (Taryn), he also received a hand-made Coheed and Cambria afghan.
Bryton is doing very well is school. She hit a couple rough patches with spelling and math but has been showing a great deal of improvement. She is still going to Gymnastics and is doing well in that too! She has been attending a free after school program everyday and loves it.
She currently has 5 continuous companions with her at all times. A beanie baby cheetah she names spots, a turtle named turtle, a wolf named wolfie, a squirrel named squirrelie, and a chipmunk named....can you guess? Chippy...(I think)
She sleeps with them every night in a very particular manner.
The other day she came downstairs with all of them in tow, and I instantly get hit with a waft of Jason's colonge in my face. She had sprayed all her animals several times with his colonge.
So needless to say we are smelling Jason, quite a bit.
She loves to do puzzles and is amazing at building lego cities, cars, people, houses, monsters, etc.
Gavin......OH Gavin! Some days that boy drives me to my limits. He's really big into "helping". His favorite tasks include bringing me every shoe I have ever worn, also my jacket. He loves "organizing" my wallet by removing anything and everything in it. He has become a very good thrower and likes to practice with everything, especially his food. ya...lots of fun.
He has also become very stealthy and can manage to climb on our bar height chairs and onto our table. Not fun for me!
We managed to finish his nursery in frogs and its very cute.....sorry no pics.
Eventually I will have some pics.
well that's it for now...Hopefully I didn't leave out too much

Camp-in Family Night
This past Monday Jason decided we were going camping.
We went shopping and got all the necessities, marshmallows, graham crackers, chocolate, Swedish fish, gummi octopuses, paper clips, bagels, and bird seed.
We came home and set up the tent and started on our bird feeders.
just mixed PB and shortening and spread the mixture on the bagel and covered it with bird seed.
We needed a little perch for the birds so we shoved a large pretzel into the bagel.
Then we hung them to our deck. No birds have been spotted yet but we are certain word will get out and the birds will begin to feast.
Next we went fishin'.
we hooked all of our Swedish fish and gummi octopi and placed them on our make-shift pond. When our magnet fishing pole was ready we began to play Go Fish. For every pair we made we got to go fishin'. This was a lot of fun and Bryton, I think, got the biggest catch when she learned that multiple fish would stick to the magnet.
Jason started a nice fire for us which lasted all night and kept us all very warm.
the finale were the inside out s'mores with peanut butter.
we nick named them s'mores on crack or heart stoppers due to their amazing taste and incredible ability to stop your heart.
step one: place mallow on fork and smear with PB
step two: dip PB covered mallow in melted chocolate (almond bark works best)
step three: roll mallow in finely crushed graham cracker.

chasing game
Gavin loves to play a chasing game. He can't walk yet so to play the chasing game we hold him and chase either Bryton or the dog, and he goes nuts!
In this video we were at Barnes & Noble and he was chasing Bryton. Super funny! -enjoy-
Also I had a super awesome Mothers day!
Jason sent me Chocolate covered strawberries! Some were white chocolate, some were milk chocolate rolled in coconut, or almonds! super delicious!
Bryton made me a beautiful crown with diamonds, a ceramic hand and a coffee filter flower corsage. love love loved it!
On the topic of Mother's Day I must give a shout-out to my mama! She is the best and strongest woman in the world! She has always been a shining example to me, and has always been my strongest supporter. I am so happy I have her in my life and I feel sorry for those whose mothers aren't nearly as awesome as she is. She gave me life, she gave me love, and she gave me a sense of humor. I can only hope and pray that I can be as good a mother to my children as she is to hers.I love you mom!

rollin around and fishies
Gavin loves to roll now-a-days and the minute he is placed on the ground he is several rolls away. The other day he was doing double rolls, and although I missed capturing them on film, I did get this other video
Also, we went to the zoo last week and Gavin loved the fish above all else, and was constantly trying to grab them so here's a video of that too.

well while jason is gone I am attempting to finish up a few things in and around the house. So this weekend I ordered some rocks and Bryce, Jenna, and I ( and bryton somewhat) shoveled and hauled and raked all day in the cold wind and finally got the side of the house all perdied up.
I still need to get some more "big" rocks to go along the fence (of which I find and pick up while jogging) and a few more rocks need to be placed on the other side of the deck, but all in all it was a success.
now all I need to do it try to heal the grass from the dog's biznaz.He knows he is supposed go else where, so he is under potty supervision for a while.

Good Times
wow it has been a long time since I have updated this.
So much has been going on.
We had a wonderful Easter, Jenna (my brother in-law's Fiance) has moved in, Bryton had her very first gymnastics meet, Gavin is getting big, and Jason left for Afghanistan.
Easter was super awesome. Bryce and Jenna came for a visit over Easter and it was a lot of fun having them here. Bryton has insane Easter Egg finding skills and the Easter bunny will have to kick it up a notch next year. Her favorite eggs were the gold and silver eggs that had a bit of money in each.
Gavin didn't get any eggs this year, due to his size, age, and lack of interest. He did however get an Easter outfit. Cheyenne must be over populated with little girls, because neither Walmart nor Target had any cute church outfits for boys.-lame-.
Jenna decided she would stay here with us after Easter. She was going to stay with us while Bryce went to Basic Training for the AF anyways. I am really happy to have her here whilst Jason is gone.
Bryton had her first ever gymnastics meet. It wasn't about competition, it was about showing off what she had learned. I am impressed. She earned a metal, a certificate, and a brand new leotard.
Jason left this last Sunday for Afghanistan. He was supposed to go to Maine to the Azor Islands, to Crete, Greece, to Balad. But due to poor weather conditions, he flew from main to England. Which was still nice, but we were both excited for him to go to Greece. He should be arriving in Afghanistan soon.
Gavin is getting to be such a big boy. Well he is still little, and smaller than most babies his age, but that boy has a BIG voice. I think he is teething, so he isn't always the happiest little thing. He loves his jumper and his bath time.

...and growing
Hey all,
It's been a while since I have written anything on here.
Our camera broke Christmas morning so all pictures from here on out have been taken on my phone.
-Christmas was so great! I think we all made out with wonderful and thoughtful gifts.
of course we all got new jammies, we made a gingerbread house, and had so much fun together over Christmas break.
Bryton is doing great in her gymnastics class and has graduated to the pre-school 2 class. Her very best friend lives directly behind us, and we have considered installing a "doggie" door in the fence for easier access between our two homes.
Gavin, oh boy, he is getting big! kinda, he is pushing 12 and a half pounds -that's a long way from the 4 and a half he started out as. His big sister just loves him to death and is
always trying to find a way to help him out.

Happy Halloween
This was our first Halloween in many many years with snow on the ground. Luckily Bryton chose to be Maleficent this year. I was very surprised to find that they only Maleficent costumes were sexy spin-offs for adults. So I set off online to look for separate pieces. A couple of days later a dress, cape, staff, and horns were found and ordered.
I was so happy with how it turned out!
The trunk-or-treat was a lot of fun and everyone was so impressed.
Trick-or-treating was a bit awkward. easily 80% of all the houses didn't even answer their doors, and we only went to the houses with porch lights on! Of all the houses that did answer, 90% had no idea who she was supposed to be, and on top of that, when she told them they had no idea who Maleficent was. Dumb....

Gavin Eric Frisby
On September 2nd 2009, I went into the Women's clinic for a follow-up ultrasound. Everything looked great, he was getting a bit bigger, no contractions....just peachy.
about 12 hours later at 1:20am I wake up to what I thought was an excruciatingly full bladder. Well after a quick trip to the lady's room I realize that all that pressure didn't go away....and there was a reason for it. No sooner had I crawled back into bed did I feel the first of many contractions.
I looked at the clock and 7 minutes later, another one, then 6 minutes later...and so on. I thought, well I will wait 6 more minutes, and if I have another one I will wake up Jason. Two minutes later I woke him up and gave him the best news in the world that you can get at 2am.....we have to go to the hospital.
So since I was waiting until the weekend to get a hospital bag ready I went to the closet and picked out a few essentials, but in lots of pain and really tired I think all I managed to grab were some socks and my toothbrush.
Jason woke up Bryton and packed her a pillow and a blanket and we headed to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
Now at 34 weeks I knew (from experience) that my Doctors were not going to let this baby come with out a fight so, dialated at a two, I recieved two shots of tributaline (spelled wrong I'm sure) and when I kept progressing they decided that the baby had won the fight and admitted me at 4 am.
From 4am to about 9am we just sat there and waited. Bryton's blanket getting no use from her. she didn't go back to sleep until about 7. I received the blessing of an epidural (nice) and got the news that the doc would be in a noon. K, so we waited some more. at 1230, After waiting a bit longer than anticipated I sent Jason and Bryton to get some lunch at the cafeteria....2 minutes later the doc walks in and I measured at a 9. Jason gets back in a jiffy. they pop my water and within 15 minutes (3 minutes of pushing) our little Gavin was born at 1246pm on September 3rd 2009 Weighing in at 4lbs 8oz.
All in all with him being 6 weeks early, he was fairly healthy. He was on oxygen for the most part of the first day, and then his O2 levels were normal so that was great.
the worst part of it all was that his little tummy couldn't digest quickly enough to sustain his body. So the poor little guy got an IV in his head, and a feeding tube down his nose, and those where the norm for the better part of a week.
With the help of his wonderful nurse, we got to see the IV go and try bottle feeding. He did great, and 8 days after he was born we got to take him home.
He is doing fabulously. Still not eating a ton but he is gaining some weight, and sleeping like a champ.
I want to thank My husband for being there for me and for taking care of me as an invalid. My parents for visiting and taking care of the house and Bryton while we spent the days with Gavin. Gavin's Nurse Peggy, best nurse ever. She really helped us through all the pricks and pokes Gavin had to get and had the biggest heart ever.
We are very happy to have this little man in our lives and I hope you all get to meet him soon.
about 12 hours later at 1:20am I wake up to what I thought was an excruciatingly full bladder. Well after a quick trip to the lady's room I realize that all that pressure didn't go away....and there was a reason for it. No sooner had I crawled back into bed did I feel the first of many contractions.
I looked at the clock and 7 minutes later, another one, then 6 minutes later...and so on. I thought, well I will wait 6 more minutes, and if I have another one I will wake up Jason. Two minutes later I woke him up and gave him the best news in the world that you can get at 2am.....we have to go to the hospital.
So since I was waiting until the weekend to get a hospital bag ready I went to the closet and picked out a few essentials, but in lots of pain and really tired I think all I managed to grab were some socks and my toothbrush.
Jason woke up Bryton and packed her a pillow and a blanket and we headed to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
Now at 34 weeks I knew (from experience) that my Doctors were not going to let this baby come with out a fight so, dialated at a two, I recieved two shots of tributaline (spelled wrong I'm sure) and when I kept progressing they decided that the baby had won the fight and admitted me at 4 am.
